1997 Barolo, Bartolo Mascarello
Never thought that this barolo was not so structured. The pale light

ruby colour seems to have a rather light body, tannin is a bit harsh
with medium to high acidity. On nose it gives graphite, soya and savoury
flavour with misty and smoky feeling. On palate, the savoury taste is a
bit over the whole tone of the wine with a finish of a few seconds.
This wine is a bit flat to me without complex layer of structure and it
showed sign of oxidation. This may be a singular case. (80) (Tasted on
24 August 2008, reposted)
