An icewine of medium copper colour and medium nose of maple syrup,
raisin, caramel, apricot with touch of grapey and peach. Sweeter than
medium sweetness with medium acidity. Lower than medium alcohol and
medium bodied. Quite high intensity flavours of honey, raisin, melon,
and touch of caramel. Fairly long length with honey and raisin finish.
(89) A simple and fruit sweet wine which keeps the fruit well, as
evidenced by its intensity and length. Complexity is not an issue here
for someone who only looks for fruit, but it lacks of some alcohol bite.

2008 Royal DeMaria Cabernet Franc Icewine
Wine of medium copper in colour with quite pronounced aromas of maple
syrup, raisin, prune and trace of violet and leafy. It is sweet with
quite high and sharp acidity. Medium plus bodied and medium alcohol. On
palate it gives higher than medium flavours of raisin, orange peel, and
chrysanthemum. Medium length with raisin finish. (89) Quite sweet and
fairly short length. Time may improve it a bit.

2008 Royal DeMaria Vidal Icewine
Medium lemon coloured with orange tinge and heavy legs. It has quite
intense nose of honey, apricot, orange peel with notes of caramel and
hazelnut. Sweet with quite high and sharp acidity. Almost full bodied
and medium alcohol. Medium intensity of tangerine, apricot, sour
pineapple. Medium length with orange peel finish (89). Quite acidic.
Fresh and crisp, consistence throughout the tasting.

2004 Chateau de Charmes
This Riesling-made ice wine is pale gold in colour. It is lucisously
sweet with pronounced honey, apricot, pineapple and peach flavour on
nose. The body is full and alcohol medium. The acidity is high while the
flavour carries throughout the whole sip. (90) (Tasted on 26 January

1998 Pillitteri Ice wine, Canada
Tasting this wine with vanilla ice cream is a good match. A strong
nose of honey is noted which is usual for an ice wine but the sweetness
is so strong that it feels a little bit cloy. The honey-yellow wine is
viscous with a taste of maple leaf. The acidity is comparatively weak
but it is still refreshing when having it with ice cream. (84) (Posted
