1998 Chateauneuf du Pape, Ch. de Beaucastel

It has deeper than medium ruby colour with quite high intensity aromas of red cherry, licorice, hay, dried herb and touch of smoke, earth leather and red plum. It is dry with medium acidity, alcohol. A bit higher than medium tannin which is soft and fine grained. On palate it has quite high intensity flavours of red currant, cherry, vanilla, licorice, tea leave and herb. Fairly long length with licorice and red berries finish. (93) Though it is still complex and intense but not so good than before. It also shows a sign of tire (maybe a bottle variation!)

不知是第4或5次飲這枝酒了,但今次的表現較差。這枝仍有一定的複雜性,但在酒香及口感放面好像感到了一點點疲態。整體上仍是一枝好酒,但缺乏了以往給我的驚喜。
