2006 Gigondas, Domaine M. Chapoutier

This deep ruby dry wine shows a fresh red cherry on nose with graphite, rose, dry herb and trace of spice. It has medium alcohol and acidity. Its tannin is medium to high and a bit harsh at the moment, which I believe it will be smoothed out in a few years. On palate it has red fruit and spicy with a medium finish of road tar and smoke. This bottle was brought by one of my old friend during a re-union dinner, which reminds me the story of what Chapoutier did on its wine label for his blind friend. (89)
