2001 Ermitage La Pavillon, Domaine M. Chapoutier

This is a deep purple wine with some legs. On nose it gives quite high intensity aromas of black pepper, black cherry, licorice, grilled herb, smoke and cigar box. It is dry with medium acidity and alcohol. Medium plus bodied and medium plus level tannin which is ripe and fine-grained. Quite pronounced flavour intensity ripe black plum, black cherry with trace of prune, pepper and mint. Fairly long length with sweet spice finish. (92) (Tasted on 19 Nov. 2011)
