2003 Pavillon Rouge du Margaux
This dry wine is deep ruby in colour with a pronounced aroma of ripe
plum, blackcurrant and notes of spice, leather and earth. It has low to
medium acidity and its body is not so full as expected. The tannin is
soft and ripe but the length just holds for a few second. On palate, the
black fruit flavours are kept going together with licorice, smoke and
earth. This one is a very good second wine but the structure is not
strong as I expect. Do I expect too much?? (90) (Tasted on 12 March
