2002 Ch. Haut Bailly

This wine gives you an attack on the quality but the expectation fades away after tasting. The deep ruby/purple dry wine give a pungent black fruit nose with trace of licorice, spice, cedar and red plum. On palate it has a mouthful of sour cherry and red fruit flavour. It has medium acidity and body. The tannin is medium and a bit bitter. The finish is weak as well. On nose it is really impressive and makes me feel that it is a wonderful wine but after tasting, it is a bit disappointed. (88) (Tasted on 16 November 2008, reposted)
