2004 Il Paradiso Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

This dry red wine has deep ruby colour. On nose it has quite pronounced aromas of dried raspberries, cherry, anise, mint, licorice, very spicy. Dry with medium acidity and alcohol. Full bodied with medium fine grained tannin. The flavour intensity is quite high with flavours of red cherry, mint, licorice, smoke and touch of strawberry tea. Longer than medium length with red cherry finish. (93) Fresh fruit with good complexity.

香料味很誘人的,酒的強度足,甚至乎有點重,不過複雜性好,令人口感滿滿,單寧還需時間,餘韻算長,品種特色及複雜性兼備,再發展一下會更好。

2000 Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Asili Riserva

Deep ruby colour with intense aromas of rose jam, road tar, cherry, vanilla, mint, licorice and pine. This dry wine has medium acidity and alcohol, full bodied and high but fine grained tannin. The flavour intensity is quite intense as well, with flavours of rose, red cherry, plum, vanilla and sweet spice. Fairly long length with red cherry finish. (95)

這酒莊的濃厚感不用置疑,酒力強勁,桶香出色,酒味在口中複雜細緻,但酒香的複雜性比酒味更強,好酒一枝。以陳年能力計仍有大把貨在手,相信要多一些時間等待單寧溶化。

2002 Giacomo Conterno Monfortino, Barolo Riserva

This dry red wine has deep ruby colour. On nose it has pronounced aromas of rose, black cherry, licorice, vanilla, mint and touch of earthiness. Medium acidity and alcohol. Full bodied with quite high tannin. The flavours contain black cherry, rose, licorice, earth, touch of tobacco. Long length with cherry finish. (96) Bit young but signs of its potential shown.

估唔到咁快有機會試。強勁、有力、濃厚集於一身。複雜性還待展現,畢竟仍很年輕,但亦開始有一點點的複雜氣味滲出來,長長餘韻亦顯示酒質,單寧一如所料的硬朗,仍需時間馴化,對這酒有一定期待。

1996 Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Asili Riserva

Deep ruby coloured with quite intense noses of black plum, road tar, smoke, dates, licorice, dried berry, prune and trace of dust. Dry with medium acidity, alcohol and full bodied. The tannin is ripe and soft at medium level. On palate it gives quite intense flavours of black plum, black cherry, smoke, toast, cinnamon and menthol. Fairly long length with black plum finish. (93) Good complexity

頗複雜的一枝酒,酒香的感覺比酒味濃,但在口中轉淡後又出現另一種味道感覺,很值得讚。單寧成熟而柔軟,餘韻亦長,靚酒的表現。酒味濃厚得來而又保存著品種的特色,是一件很出色的作品。

This dry red wine has quite intense ruby colour. On nose it has quite intense aromas of red cherry, leather, licorice, tea, damp wood and touch of mint. Medium acidity, alcohol and bodied with quite high in tannin. On palate it gives quite intense flavours of red cherry, strawberry, tea, licorice, dried herb. Fairly long length with red cherry finish. (92)

套用食神內的薜家燕一句:BDM啊,好BDM啊! 濃濃的酒香和酒味完全展示BDM的特色,酒的濃度及餘韻亦表現出其高質素,好喝。仍有一段陳年能力,但現在已經很不錯。

1998 Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Riserva Santo Stefano di Neive

Quite deep ruby colour with pronounced aromas of dried plum, road tar, earth, prune and touch of rose and damped wood. Dry with medium acidity and alcohol. Quite full bodied with quit high fine grained tannin. On palate it gives over medium flavours of red cherry, plum, clove type dried herb and touch of earth. Medium length of cherry finish. (91)

一貫的濃郁果感,強烈而複雜的香氣,撲鼻而來。酒體均衡,單寧有點強,酒味在口中仍維持複雜性,香料味也頗強,奇怪的是餘韻比想像中短。整體很不錯,可能這酒狀態有點點差,正常的應該很不錯。

1958 Giacomo Conterno Monfortino, Barolo Riserva

This wine still has medium ruby colour, with a touch of haziness. The aromas is so intense and complex that it has dried herbs, road tar, mint, rose tea, tree barks, leather and trace of sour cherry. It is dry with barely medium acidity, barely medium bodied and barely medium alcohol. The tannin is fine grained in nature at medium level. On palate it gives quite high intensity red cherry, licorice, spice box, British tea, leather and traces of dried rose and tar. Long length. (93) I wish I could meet him 10 years ago.

有些酒是會說故事的,像藝術品,這枝是一個例子。近六十年的歷史,這酒像一個步入老年的人在說故事。強烈的酒香說著他自己的發展過程,好像由花果香開始一路發展至陳酒的皮革味的整個故事。酒在口中的表現說著這酒步入老年了,平衡度仍在,但在苦苦支撐的,酒味的強度仍在,餘韻悠長,表現出它本身優秀的質素。酒體在口中鬆散了些,但畢竟已有這年歲。如果早十年飲相信會是一枝傳奇。

A deep ruby colour dry red wine with fairly high intensity noses of redberry, dried plum, dates, toast, mint leaves, rose and nutmeg, deep and attractive. Medium acidity, alcohol and quite full bodied. Quite tannic but fine grained with fairly high intensity flavours. The flavours contain red plum, mint, toast, clove and black tea. Fairly long length with dried red berry finish. (94)

酒香可以說是深沉吸引,複雜得來又有層次,很好。餘韻也很長,顯示這酒有一定質素。酒味的強度也不錯,複雜性雖然沒有酒香那麼吸引,但亦提供了一定的層次和複雜性,好酒一支,還可陳年,好飲。

1988 Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Riserva Santo Stefano di Neive

This wine has quite deep ruby colour. On nose it has pronounced level aromas of earth, dried red plum, toasted herbs, road tar and touch of soy sauce (note below). It is dry with medium acidity, bit souring. Medium alcohol and bodied with medium fine grained tannin. On palate it gives fairly high intensity flavours of red cherry jam, dried plum, earth, stony and dried herbs. Fairly long length with red cherry and mint leaves finish. (94)

Note: The soy sauce aromas is just at barely detectable level which add a touch of oxidized character to the wine without giving any unpleasant aroma.

 酒很不錯,餘韻可以說有點精彩,果味的餘韻夾著一絲絲的薄荷葉,正。酒在口中表現也很不錯,整枝酒的乾果特色出眾。酒香最後至講的原因是這酒的香氣有一點點氧化的豉油味。我相信只是剛剛有一點點,待酒的跟我說酒開了五六個小時,可能是這原因吧。但由於酒味夠強夠複雜,這點味反而令酒多一個層次,雖然我本人不太喜歡,但我相信喜愛像茅台酒的人會喜愛這醬香味。再者,酒味在口中並沒有絲毫氧化跡象。如果有下一枝的話,相信透氣時間短一點已可解決。所以這豉油香並沒有影響我對這酒的評價。酒很好,現在飲應該是會令人留下印象的好酒。

1993 Fuligni Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva

A deep ruby coloured dry red wine with fairly high intensity noses of red cherry, tea leaves, earth, stewed cherry and touch of eucalyptus. It is dry with medium acidity, alcohol and bodied with medium soft tannin. On palate it gives medium intensity flavours of red cherry, tea leaves, earth and touch of licorice. Medium length with red cherry finish. (90)

如果不是香氣較強,這酒跟一枝普通的 CHIANTI  差不了多少。除酒香外,所有的表現都是一般,中中等等的,亦有著品種特性,簡簡單單的,可口的酒品。

29.11.15

1969 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, Biondi Santi

This dry red wine has deep ruby colour. On nose it gives higher than medium intensity aromas of prune, caramel, raisin, black tea and damp wood. Fairly high acidity, medium bodied with barely medium alcohol. Medium fine grained tannin too. On palate it has slightly higher than medium flavours of stewed red cherry, caramel, British tea, damp wood. Fairly long length with sour cherry finish. (90)

有相逄恨晚的感覺,這酒如果早幾年飲應該很不錯。酒已走下坡了,有著氧化的味道,酒的酸度亦已有點醋化,酒味複雜性失去不少,酒精感亦下降。但我仍比一個不俗的評價。原因有三: 一)酒主說這酒有點輕微滲漏,所以相信在正常狀態下會比這支好; 二)酒的餘韻及強度顯示了這酒的質素; 三)四十多年的酒在輕微滲漏下的老化情度也只是如此,足証這酒有很強的生命力。酒仍有品種特性,香氣仍吸引,只是酒在口中表現平淡鬆散了。正常的狀態應該會好飲的。

1990 Monsanto Chianti Classico Riserva, Il Poggio

This dry wine has barely deep intensity ruby colour with medium noses of blood, red cherry, steel, mushroom and touch of toasted licorice and leather. It has medium acidity, alcohol and bodied with over medium intensity fine-grained tannin. Slightly higher than medium intensity flavours of red cherry, leather, mushroom, damp earth and licorice. Fairly long length with red cherry finish. (92)

感覺到是一枝發展頗成熟的酒。香氣及酒味的濃度只是比一般好一點點,但複雜性已發展得很足夠了,餘韻頗吸引,幾好飲,剛剛夠92分。
