1974 Ladyburn Single Malt Whisky (Bottled in 2015)

This whisky has medium intensity gold colour. On nose it gives quite high intensity aromas of citrus, peat, malt, honey and touch of caramel. Water brings out some floral notes. It is dry with medium acidity, medium alcohol and quit full bodied. Some wood tannin too. On palate it has quite intense flavours of honey, citrus, peat, floral and vanilla. Fairly long length with honey malty finish. (93)

風格較輕柔一點,但不失香氣的強度和複雜性。整體酒力算強,餘韻亦長,幾好飲,但不太像有近 40 年的陳年。

Bunnahabhain 25 years old Single Malt Whisky

Medium copper coloured single malt whisky with quite intense noses of honey, caramel, toasted malt, asphalt and boiled lemon. You can feel the heat of the whisky. Water dilutes the aromas but brings out notes of road tar. Dry with medium acidity, quite high warming alcohol and quite full bodied. Touch of wood tannin is detected. The flavour intensity is at medium level with flavours of coal, peat, honey, malt and citrus peel Fairly long length with sweet malt finish. (91) Powerful.

可以用猛烈來形容。酒香已經令人感到有點熱力,香氣算強而有一定複雜性。酒在口中味道較簡單了些。酒精感強,有點烈。餘韻長。好 MAN 的。不錯。

Quite deep ruby colour with intense noses of black plum, meat, earth cherry jam, rose perfume and touch of blood. It is dry with medium acidity, medium alcohol and quite full bodied. Soft and fine grained tannin, quite high level too. On palate it has quite intense flavours of black cherry, cabbage, licorice and rose. Long length with black plum finish. (93)

 介乎花果與田土的平衡味道中,這酒頗誘人。強勁的香氣和酒味,長長的餘韻,再加上重的單寧,這酒似乎還有一段長時間發展。現在飲已經很不錯,好味道。陳多幾年會更好。

1990 Castello di Ama Vigneto Bellavista Chianti Classico

Deep ruby dry red wine with quite high intensity aromas of red cherry, plum, licorice, vanilla and touch of earth and black tea. Medium acidity, alcohol and quite full bodied. The tannin is quite high but ripe and fine grained. On palate it has over medium intensity flavours of black cherry, plum, black tea, and touch of vegetal and licorice. Fairly long length with black plum finish. (92)

 比想像中好飲多了。酒經過了廿七年仍很濃郁。單寧仍強,餘韻長,如果複雜性高些會更好。另一方面要注意的是它強勁的單寧,酒可以多放一段時間,等待單寧馴化,但到時又要希望枝酒的味道不致散掉。現飲不錯,七年後相信仍可以。

Quite deep ruby colour and quite intense noses of strawberry, rose pedal, earth, smoke and rosemary type fresh herb. Dry with medium acidity, alcohol and bodied. Soft and ripe tannin at medium level with quite high flavour intensity. Fairly long length with rose and red cherry finish. (93) Beautiful

被這酒的花果味引致我感到有點驚艷。很香,但仍有點新的,就像一籃剛採下的花果香草的,帶著點點泥土一樣。酒力亦強,餘韻算長,好好飲,放多幾年應該更好。

2004 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Aux Murgers, Domaine Sylvain Cathiard

Deep ruby colour with quite intense noses of red plum, rose, mint, earth and touch of meat and cinnamon, this dry red wine has medium acidity, alcohol and full bodied. Medium fine grained tannin too, but a bit stalky. On palate it has medium intensity flavours of red plum, earth, rose. Fairly long length with red plum finish. (90) Quite round and soft, may be high in glycerin.

 NSG 酒、這年份、這表現算不錯了。酒的香料味很好,亦展現了這村的一點特色,酒在口中的力度及複雜性下降了,所以扣了些分。這酒口感很豐厚,有點重,但整體不錯,值不值是另一回事了。

Medium intensity lemon colour with pronounced noses of lemon, honey bread, mineral, amber, vanilla, white flower and touch of mineral, very complex nose. It is dry with medium acidity, medium alcohol and full bodied. On palate it gives quite intense flavours of honey lemon, musky and hazelnut. Fairly long length with honey hazelnut finish. (94)

大勇的狀態。酒的風華正盛,香氣強勁複雜,酒的花果味亦跟木桶味相輔相乘。酒力強餘韻亦算長,好飲,是一枝佳釀,應該慢慢品嚐,以這狀態這酒仍有頗長的品飲時間。

1962 Marques de Riscal Rioja Reserva

This dry red wine still has barely medium intensity ruby colour, with quite intense noses of red cherry, earth, tea leaves, dates and touch of dried herbs. It also has barely medium acidity and alcohol. Bit lighter than medium bodied with fine grained tannin. On palate it has red cherry, tea and dried herbs flavours and medium length. (88) Surprisingly drinkable with fruit flavours, which shows its strength.

厲害。五十多年的酒,仍有一些果味。酒當然是向下行的了,但有這表現亦顯示出這酒年青時是多強勁。酒的口感圓潤柔滑的,但其他方面來說當然沒有什麼可以大加讚揚,但品飲這酒是在品嚐歷史。

Delamain Riserve de la Familly Grande Champagne Cognac

Medium intensity copper colour with quite intense noses of floral, honey, apricot, orange, cinnamon, and chalk. Water enhances floral notes but dilutes others. Dry with medium acidity, warming medium alcohol and quite full bodied. On palate it gives over medium intensity flavours of citrus, honey, bitter almond and earth. Longer than medium length with honey and nutty finish. (91) Good nose but a bit weak palate.

酒很香,花香味很出眾,大香檳區特色。酒有一定陳年感,但不像很長很長。香氣複雜性不錯,只是在口中差了點。餘韻算長,酒味亦有點轉化,不錯。

2008 Beaune Vigne de L'Enfant Jesus, Bouchard

This is a dry red wine with quite deep ruby colour. On nose it has quite high intensity aromas of red plum, rose pedal, damp wood, smoke, vanilla spice and touch of blood and earth. Medium acidity, alcohol and bodied with medium fine grained tannin. The flavour intensity is over medium level with flavours of red cherry, rose pedal, cabbage and vegetal. Slightly longer than medium length with red plum finish. (90)

酒香不錯,強而有一定複雜性,泥土及樹木感較重,香味偏重方向一點。酒體平衡,只是酒味在口中強度與複雜性下降了。餘韻算長,整體不錯,可口的酒品。

Deep ruby with quite intense aromas of black plum, dried blackberry, licorice, mint, smoke and cassis, it is dry with medium acidity, medium alcohol and quite full bodied. The tannin is at medium level but soft and ripe. On palate it has slightly over medium intensity flavours of dried blackberry, black plum, earth and vanilla. Barely over medium intensity length with blackberry finish. (91)

POMEROL 區的酒,2003年的熱,造出這強勁濃厚的果感。酒香亦有一定複雜性。可是酒在口中複雜性減少了。餘韻亦沒有想像中長。總體來說,這酒的醬果感很強,果味很足,但不至於美國酒咁爆。

It is dry with quite high acidity, quite full bodied and medium alcohol. Creamy mouthfeel with quite intense flavours of lemon, hoeny, toast, steel and touch of chalk, caramel and stewed apple. Fairly long length with lime and bread finish (93)

 味道公整平衡可口,酒力強而餘韻長。擺到明是一枝好酒的。酸度足而不削,很醒神。POL ROGER 的酒不會給與你很有特色的感覺,但永遠令人覺得公整平衡,好味道的,亦很難挑剔。
