2007 Barkan Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, Israel

This is the first time I tasted a wine from Israel. It has a medium + ruby colour with developing nose of blackcurrant, menthol and trace of clove and licorice. This dry wine has medium acidity and alcohol, medium but a bit green tannin and close to medium body. The flavour contains red and black cherry, raspberry, licorice, and a bit astringent minty. Medium length with a cherry and licorice finish. (88)

Tasted on 28 June 2010
