2003 Ch. Smith Haut Lafitte

It surprises me when a friend brings to the tasting. This deep purple wine is young and strong and it needs a few years more to reach its maturity. On nose, it has intense smoke, blackcurrant, black cherry with trace of earth, menthol and pine wood. It gives ripe plum, cherry and earthy with high acidity, medium coarse tannin and full body. The finish lasts for a few second. Its potential is yet to reveal. (90)
