2009 Clos de Vougeot, Chateau de la Tour

A wine of deep ruby colour and quite high intensity aromas of plummy jam, candied strawberries, smoke, cabbage, vanilla, licorice. It is dry with medium acidity and alcohol. Quite high tannin but ripe and fine-grained. Medium plus bodied and quite intense flavours of red cherry, smoke, cabbage, earth and raspberry. Fairly long length with cherry finish. (94) This one is yet to develop. It has good nose and complexity but the true potential is yet to reveal. Cellaring for another 7 years should be rewarded.
