2005 Chateauneuf du Pape, Clos des Papes

This dry red wine has quite intense ruby colour. On nose it has medium intensity aromas of red cherry, red plum, dates, toasted, licorice and touch of blood and smoke. The acidity is barely at medium level, medium alcohol and bodied, with medium soft tannin. The flavours intensity is quite intense with flavours of red cherry, dried herbs, licorice, and dried plum, Fairly long length with cherry finish. (93) Good red fruit and soft mouthfeel. I can feel the heat but the acidity needs to be higher.

有標誌性的教皇新堡風格的酒，複雜性及酒力也很不錯，單寧亦很柔順。酒在口中那種乾果感覺很好，在喝的過程亦感覺到其產地那種熱力。有可能也是這熱力吧，現在喝感覺到酒的酸度開始有點下降，有貨的，應該快快喝掉。

1998 Chateauneuf du Pape, Clos des Papes

A deep ruby wine with barely over medium noses of dried herb, hay, red berry, licorice and touch of oxidized notes. It is dry with medium acidity and alcohol. The tannins is at barely medium level but soft. Barely over medium flavours of red cherry, licorice, dried herb and touch of meaty. Fairly long length red berry and licorice finish. (90) Maybe due to its storage condition, a bit oxidation noted.

似乎有點開始氧化的感覺。酒的複雜性及酒力是好的，餘韻亦不錯，單寧柔順，如果不是有點氧化(但我相信這可能是個別的倉儲問題)，我相信這酒是有不錯的質素。

2000 Chateauneuf du Pape, Clos des Papes

A deep ruby coloured dry red wine with significant legs.  It has quite pronounced aromas of red currant, licorice, black cherry, vanilla plus trace of smoke and earthiness. Medium acidity and soft ripe tannin. Quite full bodied with intense flavours of ripe plum, licorice, red cherry and minty note. Medium plus length with nice black cherry finish. (92) Good and smooth but the alcohol slightly sticks out, tho it is only 14%, maybe due to the Grenache.

1998 Chateauneuf du Papes, Clos des Papes

This dry red wine is deep ruby in colour with paler rim. It has raspsberry, sour plum, toast, smoke and earth aromas, which makes me feel that this one is a beautiful one. On palate, it has medium acidity and soft tannin with medium plus alcohol. However, the flavours on palate is a bit hallow, though it still gives red fruit, clove and spicy. The finish is medium with earthy note and the mouth feel is round. (90)

There is some bottle leakage of this wine and I think the wine is fragile after open. After an hour, the wine turns out some maderised smell, which seriously affect the palatability. (88).
