1984 The Golden Cask Caol Ila Single Malt Cask Strength Whisky (Bottled in 2014)

This dry single malt whisky has medium intensity gold colour. On nose it gives quite pronounced aromas of lemon, honey, smoke, malt, seaweed and touch of licorice and vanilla. Water enhances its maltiness. Medium acidity, quite high alcohol but integrated, and full bodied with oily mouthfeel. On palate it has over medium intensity flavours of honey, lemon, seaweed, pepper and touch of smoke. Fairly long length with lemon and honey finish. (93)

很多人覺得艾雷酒的酒香味不能接受，但接受的人又會很喜歡。但我覺得這裡的酒最精彩是酒香及酒味風格上的反差。酒香較重煙煄跟入口後的甜美形成一大對比，甚至給人驚喜。有風格、有強度和餘韻、亦有一定複雜性，好味。

Medium gold colour. The nose has quite high intensity aromas of peat, smoke, honey, road tar, lemon jam. Water enhances honey and brings out malty notes. Dry with medium acidity, quite high alcohol and warming, quite full bodied too. On palate it gives quite intense flavours of lemon, peat, smoke, seaweed, cinnamon spice. 這酒廠的酒是可以感受由滿口煤泥味轉至蜜糖味的那種味覺旅程。酒是較烈的，可能是原桶關係，酒力強，有一定複雜性，餘韻長，好飲的，但我相信並不適合初飲者。

Glen Deveron 30 year Single Malt Whisky

A medium intensity gold coloured whisky with fairly high intensity aromas of hoeny, roasted malt, caramel and touch of seaweed, smoke and green orange. Water brings out sweet malt notes. It is dry with medium acidity, medium well integrated alcohol. Quite full bodied with oily mouthfeel. On palate, it has over medium intensity flavours of honey, apricot, caramel, orange peel and touch of pineapple. Longer than medium length with honey nutty finish. (93)

單以酒味複雜性計，這酒不值這評價。但那豐厚油潤的口感是會加分的。酒香不錯，餘韻亦算好，只是酒味的複雜性低了點，好飲的。
